Law Recruitment Programme

 

Purpose:

This Programme is aimed at all levels. Law firms have opportunities for vacation work and bursaries. It also focuses on recruiting final year students for candidate attorney positions.

Targeted Students:  Final year LLB and BCom Law students for candidate attorneys, from 1st year students for vacation work and bursaries.

Dates:                        8 - 19 May 2023 

Bookings Open:         November of the preceding year

Booking space is limited. To avoid disappointment companies are encouraged to book early as bookings are provided on a first come first serve basis.

 

Part-time and Full-time Placements

 

Part time

Applicable to students seeking part time and ad hoc placement, e.g. handing out flyers, student assistantship, stocktaking, compiling of databases or any other small jobs.

Career Services keeps a database of students who seek ad hoc employment.

Target students: All students and Alumni

Dates: All year

 

Full time

Purpose: We offer an external full-time employment service to our students and alumni by calling for CVs and forwarding them to companies should the need arise.

Targeted students: Current students & Alumni of Nelson Mandela University

Dates: All year

 

Careers Fairs

Career Fair Services

If you are registered for a Careers Fair, the following services are included:

  • Use of the venue
  • 3 x 2 m Schell Scheme
  • 3 x 2 Space allocation (only for companies building their own stand)
  • Furniture: Table, chairs (x4) & table cloth
  • Catering for up to 4 delegates (please notify the office prior to the event if more delegates are included – R150 Excl. VAT per extra delegate)
  • Marketing
    • Email
    • Flyer distributions
    • Promoters
    • Assistance for set up and breakdown

Additional Information:

  • All prices are Exclusive of VAT.
  • Space allocation for all packages is 3 x 2 m,
    • double space options available 
  • A floor plan will be sent to participating companies two weeks prior to the event (This may be delayed due to late registrations).
